CTL-500 Cellcorder (Discontinued)

Cellcorder Standby Battery Test Meter

This is a high tech unique portable battery test instrument, which displays and automatically records cell voltages together with internal cell and cell connector resistance. The system also includes the leading 'Battery Analysis' software.

Cellcare 100 Voltlogger

Why do Batteries require Monitoring?

Critical standby power battery backed installations need to perform instantly when called upon during an outage. To ensure maximum reliability from the considerable investment made a number of rules should be observed. Once installation has been completed, the battery must be commission charged and a full autonomy discharge/recharge cycle test undertaken to establish the 'as new' performance. Prior to undertaking this discharge it is advisable to ensure that all terminations are tight, torqued up to the manufacturers recommended settings and individual cell voltages inter-cell resistance and internal resistance's are logged.

This task is speedily completed and the data recorded by using the CTL 500 Cellcorder Standby Battery Test Multimeter.

Previously only recordable using three separate instruments, these readings are critical as they will form the base parameters against which decisions will be taken to determine that useful service life has been reached. By periodic testing with the Cellcorder, using its inbuilt short duration DC load capability and without taking the battery off-line , a data series is established. Utilising the supplied software conveniently turns the tabular data into easy to read graphical trends. Automatic comparison against user definable alarm levels rapidly identifies any cells/blocks becoming a potential cause of failure.

When vented batteries are in service the Specific Gravity readings and temperatures are taken with our CTL-200 Hydrostik Digital Data logging Hydrometer/Thermometer. This data can be inputted to provide the most complete effort free reports.

All instrumentation must be maintained within calibration, CellCare Technologies will send a reminder annually to ensure it is not forgotten. A traceable accredited certificate of conformance

is issued.

The Multi meter Unit

Housed in a protective, padded, shoulder fitting carrying case, with an easy to read display and user friendly keypad the CTL 500 Cellcorder represents the state of the art in Portable Battery Diagnostic Test Instrumentation.

It has two modes of operation, usable as a Voltmeter only, or in 'Multimeter.' setting, applying a short duration load.

'Power Cord Free' operation is provided by a rechargeable battery, giving up to 6 hours usage between recharges.

Automatic Power Saving features are included which ensure consumption is minimised.

The method is tried and trusted by the most discerning users to give accurate reliable information against which to make critical judgments on cell conditions.

CellCare Technologies also provides unbiased advice to users to help them in their decision making.

The unit comes complete with all necessary cables and fully insulated quick release clips.

Features include:

  • Float Voltage Readings                         The Cellcorder measures the voltage applied during full float operation. The voltage range covers all cell or modules up to 16 volts. Cell or module reading accuracy is to four full digits.
  • Internal Cell Resistance                        The internal resistance of a cell can be determined by how that cell responds to a momentary load. the instantaneous voltage drop and load current applied are used to calculate the resistance. Cellcorder algorithms make this measurement possible on cells floating on-line or off-line.
  • Inter Cell Resistance                            The Cellcorder measures the resistance between two cell terminals that are electrically connected. The measurement consists of the connector resistance and the contact resistance at the points of connection to the cell terminals.
  • Auto Ranging                                      The Cellcorder automatically selects the correct voltage range, load resistor and time for a test.
  • Data Extraction and Analysis                  After all testing is completed; the Cellcorder can be connected via an RS232 port to a computer. The data extraction program analyses the test data and displays results in a bar graph or tabulated format. A test report may be printed or saved to a file. This file can be exported in an ASCII or comma-delimited format to allow off-the-shelf programs or supplied Battery Analysis trending software to generate customized reports.
